Alvaret at Work for Trafikverket
After months of intensive work, it is always a special moment to see a project at its final destination.
Royal Van der Leun had the pleasure of welcoming 11 enthusiastic trainees from Damen to our headquarters in Sliedrecht. These bright young professionals are building the foundations for their future in the maritime industry, and we were proud to play a part in their journey.
The afternoon began with a presentation by Carlos Manuel De Sousa Costa, During the visit, the trainees showed great interest in our future-proof solutions, exploring our Scio Vessel Management System themselves and engaging in insightful conversations about the industry and our shared vision for its future. We also tested their knowledge with a quiz on the collaboration between Royal Van der Leun and Damen.
Following the quiz, they enjoyed a guided tour of our facilities, where they got an up-close look at the craftsmanship behind our panel construction. We demonstrated our current projects, highlighted the differences in panel-building techniques, and emphasized the precision and dedication that go into every step of our process.
To round off the afternoon, we headed to our in-house pub, De Leuning, enjoying some drinks and, of course, bitterballen.
A special thanks to Daan Verbeek for co-organizing this event. At Royal Van der Leun, our doors are always open. We’re excited to continue learning from the fresh perspectives of young talents like these Damen trainees and to shape the future together. Thanks again to all the trainees, and we wish you all the best in your careers!
