After an incredible 55 years at Royal Van der Leun, Cor Usmany recently said an official farewell to his colleagues.
Royal Van der Leun is pleased to announce we received the order for the complete engineering, integration, and delivery of the full electrical package for an fully electrical ferry.
This includes everything from system integration and main switchboards to energy management systems, alarm monitoring systems, and e-motors
German ferry operator AG Reederei Norden-Frisia is making great strides in sustainability with its latest addition to the fleet. The company has partnered with Damen Shipyards to design and deliver a 32-meter full electric ferry that will carry 150 passengers and provide a speed of 16 knots.
To further support the vessel's sustainability, AG Reederei Norden-Frisia has also invested in a jetty charger pontoon, which will be responsible for supplying charging power to the ferry. Royal Van der Leun was also commissioned for the complete engineering, integration, and delivery of the electrical package for the jetty charger pontoon.The new ferry will be classed by Lloyd's Register (LR).
