Electrifying an icon in the Caribbean!
We are proud to contribute to a truly iconic project: the renovation and electrification of the Queen Emma Bridge in Willemstad, Curaçao.
From two separate power supplies (218 + 55 kVA) to one power supply pumping 1000 kVA into our facilities. A big improvement for Royal Van der Leun, as we can continue to accommodate the vast growing, high level of support our customers deserve.
The final part of the installation is installed right at our gate: a brand-new transformer station, supplied by Alfen. Through this station, the 1000kVA, enters our premises. Luckily this transformation is a piece of DIY-cake for our Industrial Electrical Systems division (Van der Leun Electrobouw) as they know how to execute a job like this, perfectly.
Together with the renovation of our facilities, this power supply upgrade helps Royal Van der Leun set a step forward. It enables Van der Leun Electrobouw to intensify the Smart Building program. Our new facilities will function as a state of the art showroom were we can show you all nifty features.
We thank Alfen, Stedin and Gemeente Sliedrecht for the great understanding and cooperation in the process reaching to our future proof facility.

Royal Van der Leun has been awarded the contract for the complete electrical installation package of a Beagle® 10.2 trailing suction hopper dredger, developed by Royal IHC for The Dutra Group.
Once again, we celebrated our annual Christmas get-together last week, this time not with a traditional dinner, but with a festive late lunch. Somewhere between lunch and dinner, a “linner” (or “dunch”), if you will.
