Working on automation projects at Royal Van der Leun means working on control systems for hybrid ships, such as ferries, tugs and fire-fighting boats. Hybrid installations can now also be found on various types of workboats, such as crane vessels, for example in the form of batteries and/or capacitors. All this in order to be able to use the available energy sources as optimally as possible.

In addition to these PMS (Power Management Systems) and EMS (Energy Management Systems), there are many other systems on board that are controlled via a DCS (Distributed Control System). For all these systems, we also develop the HMI with which the operators can operate the ship's systems.

We also have a large number of small projects. There, for example, the controls must be programmed for hydraulic and electrically driven installations for winches, jacking and skidding systems.
