A fantastic milestone: 100 years Van der Leun!
On the 4th of December on 1920 Van der Leun was officially registered. That means today is a fantastic milestone of 100 years Van der Leun!
It all started with lamp and radio salesman Jan Cornelis Van der Leun. He focused on replacing gas-powered lights by electrical lights soon after opening his store in 1920. He was increasingly called to carry out repairs on inland navigation vessels in the harbour of Sliedrecht in the Netherlands.
In the following years, his sons extended the company and Van der Leun became a serious player in the construction and maritime industry. Many years, no dredger would leave the harbour without Van der Leun's technology.
On 1962 Marius den Breejen took over with two colleagues and kept the company name. In 1991 our current CEO Martin den Breejen took over from his Father.
The number of offices expanded around the world and developed a strong 24/7 service network early on.
Today, on the 4th of December in 2020 it is still a family owned company with 3 divisions: Electrical Marine systems, Electrical utility and Metalworks with over 220 employees and 9 branches all over the world.
This all thanks to our valuable and our long lasting relations.
Due to the Covid pandemic we postponed all events on the agenda, but as soon the situation allows us we are planning to celebrate our anniversary together.
