At Metstrade, miracles can be engineered
From November 18 - 20, our Yachting specialists will be showcasing our expertise at the world’s largest trade exhibition for the leisure marine industry: Metstrade at RAI Amsterdam.
Successful maintenance goes beyond vessels we originally engineered and installed. At Royal Van der Leun, we also support electrical systems on vessels built and delivered by others.
Take this beautiful lady, the Tachek, as an example. This remarkable vessel, originally built in 1969 and now 57 years strong, underwent a lifetime extension overhaul in 2012-2013.
She also became one of the first hybrid vessels in the BC Ferries fleet. Equipped with Danfoss Drives' Vacon converters, she proved to be a perfect match for our expertise in electrical systems, converter technology, and marine service.
From our Canadian branch, Van der Leun Electrical Marine Services Canada Ltd., we carried out maintenance at the remote location of Saltery Bay earlier this year. Working in locations like this requires detailed planning, flexibility, and problem-solving on the spot.
Challenges are part of the job, and our team delivered. And as a proud local contractor with international roots, we greatly value feedback like this from the vessel's engineering team:
“We worked with Van der Leun Canada on the Island Class series, and their experience and knowledge of these converters is exceptional. Their dedication and organization within the limited timeframe were key factors for us, and they did it.”
