Trial Voyage 3D-Printed Ferry
We’re always proud when a ship touches water for the first time. Today we’re a little extra proud, today is the trial voyage of the pioneering project 3D-Printed Autonomous Ferry.
Completely in a style that suits the current times, we signed via teams the final contract with Damen for vessel: OSRV 8316, which is a Scientific Marine Research Vessel.
Van der Leun has started the engineering already and will deliver the entire electrical installation and commissioning for the OSRV 8316.
The vessel will be build in Colombia and will be 83 metres in length with a beam of 16 metres. It will operate in Colombian waters, both Pacific and Caribbean, and will also sail to the Antarctic.
We are grateful to receive such an order in the current global economic situation.
