A special farewell after 55 years of craftsmanship
After an incredible 55 years at Royal Van der Leun, Cor Usmany recently said an official farewell to his colleagues.
Royal Van der Leun had close contact with the engineers of tomorrow. We’re always proud to show what we do, like our colleagues Ronald Visser and Falco Ebelties did recently.
Ronald showed scholars of the local Secondary School De Lage Waard around at our facilities. As part of the ‘Onderwijsroute’ (Education Route), Royal Van der Leun showed the scholars what they can do when they choose for the technical route! From engineering to metal works, there’s a lot of options. Therefor we’re glad we could show the scholars what technical jobs look like in real life.
Falco was at the ROC Da Vinci Open House, where he showed the upcoming students what a Smart Switchboard does and how it works. Together with Da Vinci, we help students become professionals, as per our multiple internships at Royal Van der Leun, guided by experienced colleagues.
Students have the future, we have the obligation to show them!

Made with craftsmanship, for maximum performance at sea! These two custom-made seawater inlet filters (DN800) are key components of the cooling water systems of a large hopper dredger.
This aluminum construction could easily fit in a modern museum, don't you think?
