Upgrade of dynamic positioning from DP1 to DP2. After the new construction in Romania, Van der Leun provided maintenance for both ships. Because of the increasingly high requirements in the offshore world, Vroon decided to upgrade both ships from DP1 to DP2. That way, both ships remain useful for a wide range of applications.

Prior to the actual conversion, Van der Leun received a commission for the engineering of the conversion from DP1 to DP2. In collaboration with our Brazilian branch, the service department worked as a team to meet the challenge of converting the ship to a DP2 ship in two weeks under Class (Lloyds) to meet the FMEA trials.
