Van der Leun China, a complete electrical engineering service provider was excited to see her back from the success. The RoPax Ferry is built for the Port Authority of Timor-Leste (APORTIL) and has a capacity for up to 308 passengers, vehicles and cargo. The launch was in May of this year after its construction. Afterwards, she sailed to Shanghai for sea trials.

“Even facing numerous obstacles, this project execution has managed to proceed, with nearly no deviation, towards its final destination in Dili.” Just as Flavio Cardoso Neves, president of the board at APORTIL said, “The pandemic crisis has limited parties from travelling and made difficult the circulation of materials around the world. But the whole team commitment, adaption and perseverance has led us to this day. Such is the strong personality of the maritime industry and its people.”

A special thanks to the team who completed the commissioning job with over twenty electrical and automation systems on board. After her sea trial and the up-coming wrap-up, it will operate between Timor-Leste’s capital Dili, the Oecusse enclave and the island of AtaÚro. Let’s look forward to her leaving for Dili soon!
